We are a small, family-owned and operated early learning centre licensed for 39 children between the ages of 0 and 6 years. We are based in the heart of Browns Bay and conveniently situated adjacent to Browns Bay Primary School.
Ours is a warm, nurturing, home-away-from-home environment where our tamariki (children) are supported and guided by professional, qualified Kaiako (teachers) and support staff.
About Us
We value our multi-cultural community and welcome whanau from different countries and cultures, including New Zealand, England, Ireland, Chile, China, Taiwan, South Africa, Japan, Germany, to name a few. Respectful, reciprocal relationships are at the core of all we do here at Browns Bay Preschool:
· Respect for the individuality and culture of each tamaiti (child),
· Respect for all our whanau (families),
· Respect for our Kaiako and staff,
· Respect for our resources and spaces,
· Respect for our environment.
We follow the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum.
We encourage tamariki to develop the tools required to investigate, make sense of objects and ideas about which they are curious, and to become promoters of culture, values, and rights. We believe in giving tamriki ownership of their learning and their experiences.
What our Families say about us
Our teachers are dedicated to nurturing each tamaiti’s growth with care and expertise.

I feel so lucky to have found BBP! After a difficult experience at a nearby preschool, I was heartbroken and upset. Finding Yvonne and the incredible teachers here felt like a lifesaver. They were so supportive and wonderful with my two boys.

Over the past three years, both of our children have grown into strong, social, and self-confident little individuals, which we attribute to the safe and nurturing environment at BBPPS. Yvonne and her team of Early Childhood Education teachers are an incredible group, full of love, compassion, and endless patience. The school’s events also play a vital role in fostering growth and strengthening the Browns Bay community.
